On February 13, former NBA player Iman Shumpert partnered with McDonald's USA to surprise the Chicago State Cougars women's basketball team with an exclusive experience at the 'Beyond the Court' panel. Alongside this event, McDonald's announced a generous donation of $20,000 to the university's athletic department.
During an interview, Shumpert emphasized the significance of community support, particularly for the Black community, highlighting the often-overlooked contributions of everyday heroes like teachers and coaches. He expressed frustration with social media's superficial recognition of good deeds, advocating for genuine acknowledgment of those who positively impact lives.
